an intersection of musical genres with roots in traditional bluegrass.

East of Monroe’s music explores swing, country, folk, pop, jazz, and bluegrass within tasteful arrangements of contemporary and traditional songs as well as original compositions. Deep experience and tight vocal harmony- together with fresh original songwriting- combine to offer a brand new and unique sound on the American acoustic music scene. Upcoming music from the band features the gifted songwriting of Gary Ferguson (formerly “Knoxville Grass”), Jackie Frost (2008 finalist in Independent Music Awards), Richard Ward (formerly “Jackie Frost Trio”) and exciting newcomer Emily Timberlake. The band is complimented by the solid bass playing of Billy Budd (formerly “Bill Harrell and the Virginians”) and the tasteful and diverse dobro of Dave Giegerich (“Hula Monsters”).
