–“The two of you could not only be the “New” Louvin Bros. and Monroe Bros. wrapped in one, but you could eclipse every band out there right now with the combination of the awesome abilities that you both have.” (Ron Thomason, Dry Branch Fire Squad)
Darren Beachley & Barry Scott may be two of Bluegrass Music most recognizable voices. Collectively they spent 14 years under the tool edge of one of Bluegrass music’s greatest bands Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver (1996-2009). Darren and Barry were part of DL&Q during its record setting run of seven-consecutive IBMA Vocal Group of the year awards. After leaving DL&Q both continued to have major success. Barry fronting his band Second Wind would receive a Grammy Nomination in 2010 for his gospel release “In Gods Time”. Darren fronting his band Legends of the Potomac would have his release “Takeoff” be one of the top Bluegrass CD’s of 2010. In November of 2010 the two had always talked of singing together and the time seemed right as both bands were undergoing major personal shifts and thus a Bluegrass mega-merger was formed. The Beachley & Scott Band bring forth all the elements of incredible vocal harmonies and rock solid playing with original material from the pen of Barry Scott and many of today’s great writers.
