The McTell Brothers have already played with and opened for some of the country’s top songwriters and guitarists from Nashville, Austin, New York and beyond – Kaki King, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Nicole Atkins, Jennifer Knapp, Elizabeth Cook, Amy Speace, Emily Wells, Devon Sproule, Eric Brace, Peter Cooper, Eric Taylor, The Spring Standards, The Black Lillies and others. They have played some of the top festivals and venues in the mid-Atlantic.
It all started at the tender age of 7, when Jeff and Brian got their first guitars and started lessons. And by the ripe old age of 9 the fraternal twins were already playing in coffeehouses in their home state of Virginia. They bought electric guitars and started mastering the blues – despite not even being double digits in age, and years away from being able to hang out in bars. The twins play and sing acoustic and electric blues, rock, folk rock as well as their own compositions. Formerly touring as the J & B Blues Project, their new name is an homage to legendary bluesman Blind Willie McTell.
