Kevin Gordon – cd release tour

Bug Music artist Kevin Gordon – the southern rock and roll songwriter who has been covered by Keith Richards, Levon Helm, Irma Thomas, and others and who has recorded a duet with Lucinda Williams – will release ‘Gloryland’ (February 14 / Crowville Media), his first new album in 7 years. It’s a new high water mark for Gordon, representing his most powerful, fully realized writing to date. Early buzz on the album from Peter Cooper in the hometown Tennessean has focused on the song “Colfax”: “We’ll empty your spit-valve for life if you find us anything more stunning than ‘Colfax,’ [Kevin Gordon’s] undeniably superb song that could only have come from one mind, and from one person’s experience. Greg Trooper

Greg Trooper is a singer/songwriter who has released 11 albums since 1986. Raised in the shore town of Little Silver, NJ he became enthralled by the greater New York area’s rich music scene. He discovered a sort of holy musical trinity in the work of Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, and Hank Williams, with their guiding lights of passion, literary dexterity and plainspoken honesty. It’s one reason Trooper’s music feels equally informed by Memphis soul, Greenwich Village folk and Nashville twang. Trooper has made an impact on the music scenes in all the places he’s lived since leaving home after high school: Austin, Texas, Lawrence, Kansas, Nashville and New York. Music critics praise his poetic feel, infectious melodies and insightful lyrics. Americana star Buddy Miller produced 1998’s ‘Popular Demons’ album, while soul legend Dan Penn steered 2005’s extraordinary ‘Make It Through This World’. His songs have been recorded by numerous artists including: Vince Gill, Steve...

The Ryan Montbleau Band

“Time hangs heavy on the vine/Let’s make wine,” Ryan Montbleau sings in the lulling, sensual verse that gives his group’s new album its title. Ryan Montbleau Band has been tending its own musical vineyard for a few years, on the patient cusp of a breakthrough. Their distinctive, long-fermenting blend of neo-folk, classic soul, and kick-out-the-jams Americana finally comes to full fruition in Heavy on the Vine. It’s an album that represents the product of — and further promise of — a very good year. “Fans and critics alike have embraced their sound, which has one foot planted in folk and Americana and the other planted in soul, which combine to create an original hybrid of music that feels fresh and retro at the same time.” – State of Mind March 2008 visit the website:http://ryanmontbleauband.com/
