You could stock a crowd-pleasing jukebox with the songs Jesse Winchester has written and recorded in the last four decades – and with the better-known versions of his songs that have become hits and album staples for artists ranging from Joan Baez to Elvis Costello to Jimmy Buffett. Winchester’s skill in capturing vivid small town vignettes, heartfelt love and love-lost situations, and goodtime celebrations has yielded a litany of I-know-that-songs: “Yankee Lady,” “Biloxi,” “Brand New Tennessee Waltz,” “Talk Memphis,” “Rhumba Girl,” “Payday,” “I’m Gonna Miss You, Girl,” “Let’s Make a Baby King” and many more. His 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Composters, Artists and Publishers (ASCAP) is one gauge of the music world’s esteem; Bob Dylan naming Jesse as one of the best songwriters of his generation is another.

New Jersey-born and Florida-based singer/songwriter John Frinzi has steadily gained recognition across the country for his soulful songs, unique voice, and strong live performances. Since the release and airplay success of his first CD, “Into The Dawn,” in 2003, Frinzi has developed a national following through constant touring. He plays well over 200 dates a year. Frinzi has shared the stage with major performers in Americana, Folk and Roots music. Highlights were shows with Todd Snider, Mac McAnally, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Keith Sykes, Chuck Pyle, Mark Erelli, Randy Weeks, Slaid Cleaves, Duane Jarvis, Will Kimbrough, Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart, Eilen Jewell, Peter Mayer, Nadirah Shakoor, Michael Utley and Robert Greenidge. John’s latest release, “Shoreline,” recorded in Nashville in late 2009, includes guest appearances by Keith Sykes, Doyle Grisham and Mike Utley. This CD contains 11 tracks of melodic folk, country and jazz-influenced songs that showcase Frinzi’s versatility as a songwriter and vocalist. Many of the “Shoreline” songs were co-written with Tom Corcoran—author of the Alex Rutledge Mystery Series and co-writer of the Jimmy Buffett classics, “Fins,” and “Cuban Crime of Passion.” The disc receives broad airplay including several songs in regular rotation on Sirius/XM Radio.
