Bud’s Collective is a powerful group of musicians from the hills of West Virginia. While their music reflects roots firmly planted in Bluegrass tradition, they do not hesitate to add to it in ways all their own, gathering influences from a wide variety of sources. Playing a tasteful mix of original material and popular hits ranging from Stevie Wonder to Alabama and all points in between, Bud’s Collective has been making waves in the music scene since the inception of the group in 2012.These guys and gal have been playing music together informally for over a decade, and their music speaks loud and clear of the years spent adapting and blending with one another’s styles, creating the sound of unity and professionalism. What truly sets them apart from the rest, however, is the energy that fills the spaces in which they perform – captivating their audiences and leaving them wanting more.
The band is made up of front man Buddy Dunlap, a born entertainer, on guitar and lead vocals; Cody Brown on bass; Gina Clowes on banjo; and Jack Dunlap on mandolin. Each individual member is award winning, and together they brought in 2nd Place at the prestigious SPBGMA Championship in 2014, and were the 2013 DC Bluegrass Union Band of the Year.
What People Are Saying…
“I hired Bud’s Collective for our festival and I can honestly say that they are now one of my favorite bands out there. Not only are their songs well chosen, their harmonies tight, and their solos blazing hot, but they also were just wonderful to work with all day. They arrived early, asked if they could help out in any way, did a fantastic job teaching some workshops and were so nice and worked so well at talking with fans that I think everyone that saw them or met them left there as a die-hard fan.”

“As a bluegrass promoter for over forty years, I often wonder about the future of our wonderful music. After experiencing Bud’s Collective several times, I am assured that it is in good hands. Young, talented, great material and very entertaining. I did not hesitate to book them for our Berryville Bluegrass Series.”
– Frank Jurney, Promoter
“If there was a way to rate higher than 5 stars across the board, I would certainly do so. Bud’s Collective was so professional and easy to deal with from the very beginning. The level of talent in this band is amazing, and they can appeal to young and old alike. I can’t recommend these guys highly enough!”
