BJ Kocen has been in the Richmond, VA music scene for decades now. His work really started to get noticed in the early days of the Ashland Coffee and Tea where he opened for Todd Snider, hosted and won The Singer Songwriter Showdown, and played many shows there with some of the top musicians in the area. Bj then broke off and founded his own music series hosted at The Barksdale Theatre called “Stretchin” which ran for 5 seasons. He runs the glave kocen gallery with his wife Jennifer and they just celebrated the gallery’s ten year anniversary in September.

Sarah White has a new album ready called High Flyer.  Recorded at Montrose Studio in Richmond VA.  Produced, mixed, and engineered by Stewart Myers of Dixie Five.  Players include Daniel Clarke (Ryan Adams, k.d. lang) on keyboards, pianos and accordion; Charles Arthur (Slaid Cleaves) on guitars, Charlie Bell (Charlie Louvin, Hackensaw Boys) on pedal steel; and John O’Reilly Jr. on drums. “Sweetheart” features fellow Virginian Dave Matthews.  Other guests include Austin and Michael York (Sleepwalkers) on vocals, Carl Anderson (vocals), Carleigh Nesbit (vocals), Carter Gravatt of Carbon Leaf on guitar, and a cappella trio Resound on vocals.

Justin Laughter is a songwriter and musician and is the conduit between Sarah, himself & BJ. He performs in the children’s band Silly Bus and the pop rock band Flashlight Tag. Some have described Justin as an amazing gift to the world. That someone is Justin’s mom. Others think he’s pretty great too.
