“There’s freedom in knowing that you don’t have to know it all,” she says, “which is why to me, a song should end with a question, not an answer.” It might seem that after six groundbreaking albums of original songs, more than a dozen years of recording and touring around the world, a harvest of music industry awards, and covers of her songs by a roster of great artists – that Mary Gauthier (say it: go-shay) should have a handle on some of the big answers. Yet with each new album, with each new cycle of songs that illuminate her soul, with each old and new set of characters and life changes she introduces, Mary is always ending up with more questions. Where do her people come from and where do they go? How can they find shelter from the storm? What is the truth?

“Gauthier’s newest CD, “The Foundling” is the product of two years work, and is quite simply the best collection of songs she’s ever recorded. With ‘The Foundling’, Mary Gauthier has created her first masterpiece. Not for the easily frightened, it is the most raw, brave and ultimately satisfying album I’ve heard in a very long time. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. ” No Depression Magazine

    OH Hell yeah!

    • Paul says:

      What she said!

  2. Keri Wormald says:

I met Mary Gauthier in the lobby of a hotel in Perth, Scotland in 2009. I didn’t see her at the concert that night, but looked up her music after I met her…. and she is AMAZING. And right here in Ashland? SO COOL.

  3. Jess says:

I am so stoked to see Mary is back! What’s the lineup?

  4. Eddie Williams says:

This will be my 4th time seeing her. She is better with each tour, and she started out AMAZING. You will not be disappointed. I don’t think she is touring this time ’round with Tania Elizabeth, which is a shame, but make no mistake, it’s Mary’s show, regardless of her accompanist(s). And that means we’re all in for a treat!

  5. Linda Hammer says:

Looking forward to seeing Mary again. We love her and het music
