The Songwriter Showcase – In the round

Featuring some of our favorite performers from the Tuesday Showdown – enjoy great originals in this “Homegrown” showcase. On board to entertain you are Carter Redd, Doug Henninger, Victor Gottlieb, and James Lester. James Lester grew up in Halifax County, VA where he absorbed all of the things one absorbs when growing up in a small town in the South.  He taught himself to play the guitar at age 12 and began composing songs soon thereafter.  Later, he gained a formal musical education at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. His songs echo the folk tradition of Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams and Mississippi John Hurt while focusing on personal introspections as well as the issues of America in the 21st century.  Carter Redd was born, raised and lives in Beaver Dam, Virginia.  He began making up songs for steel-string guitar and voice in 1966 off and on and is still at it.  His songs range from Country to New Age Folk.  They are not currently availble other than...
